About Alvaro
I was raised in Gainesville, FL and still sometimes miss the barbecue and humidity of my childhood. I studied Chemistry & Physics at Harvard, where I conducted research on energy storage technologies and found a love for the liberal arts. I went on to receive a MS in Chemistry from UC Berkeley, where I still live, and studied urban-scale atmospheric pollutants. Outside of work, I like to watch and play soccer, read novels and political theory, cook, and play video games. I am also interested in scientific and political writing and have work published in Science, Nature, and the Harvard Political Review.
